Newmarket POMBA
Newmarket POMBA is a non-profit organization which provides moral support and information for parents of multiple births. Our club offers a community service and our purpose is to provide information on multiple births and parenting, as well as a social outlet in which we can share our experiences.
Newmarket POMBA was established in 1983 and our club continues to grow throughout York Region and the surrounding areas. We currently have a membership of over 190 families and growing! We also have many sister clubs throughout Ontario as well, with membership of well over 1000 families. The club holds monthly meetings and has a wide variety of speakers to help parents with their multiple blessings. We provide a bi-monthly newsletter to keep members informed of club business and social events. We also offer an extensive library of educational and support information for members to borrow. Newmarket POMBA member families also participate in a playgroup designed for multiples on Saturday mornings at a local day care facility. We also offer support lines to help parents through the different stages of parenthood. When a question arises that members are unsure how to deal with, our support lines offer other members experiences as a guideline and possible suggestions.
Our club also hosts social family gatherings such as a children's Christmas party, spring family swim, winter skating party, and a family summer picnic, to name a few. These club activities are organized by members who donate their time and energy to make each outing an enjoyable and memorable experience. It is an opportunity for members to feel relaxed and comfortable in a social situation.
